Working with us is an immensely rewarding and fulfilling experience but it’s no walk in the park, it requires commitment. This is a working holiday, and it is hard work including cleaning, gardening, maintenance and animal welfare duties. You’ll meet loads of great people and we know you’ll have lots of fun, but the animals come first. You’ll be expected to start your shift on time – this includes alternate 7.00am starts, so please think carefully about whether you’ll be able to commit to this – if the answer’s yes - Great!

Koh Lanta Animal Welfare was founded by Junie Kovacs in 2005. Her mission was to end the suffering of the hundreds of homeless, abused and injured animals on Koh Lanta. To date, the have sterilized and treated over 15,000 animals, and with your support we continue to grow helping more and more animals each year.
As the only veterinary service on the island, they provide vital first aid for all animals, both owned and stray. They also promote vaccination and preventative healthcare. In addition, they operate mobile clinics to regularly run mass sterilization and vaccination programs on neighboring islands and mainland areas, which have no other veterinary help. Another aspect of their work is promoting education towards kindness to animals, working with local schools.
