The Laos Wildlife Rescue Centre (LWRC) hosts wild animals that were confiscated from illegal traders, held as pets or mistreated. Some are rehabilitated and can be released back to the wild, and the ones who sadly can't will receive life long care in the safe, natural environments the LWRC has created in their Wildlife Sanctuary. The LWRC also cooperates with the National Lao Zoo striving to improve the conditions of their animals, with the vision of transforming the zoo into a world class mixed species wildlife sanctuary, which is crucially needed in Lao PDR
